Leather Bookmarks

A leather bookmark has one hard constraint: it has to be thin enough that the book still closes flat. Anything much over 2 mm splays the pages and leaves a permanent ridge in the spine.
Ours are skived at the edges to solve exactly that. Some models close on the page with embedded magnets; others hang loose with a hand-tied tassel that sits past the page edge so you find your place by feel.
Full-grain cowhide throughout, edges finished by hand. Tassels are knotted through a punched hole rather than glued into a metal cap — the glued cap is the failure point on almost every cheap bookmark.
One model adds an elastic pen loop, which turns the bookmark into somewhere to keep a pen for readers who annotate. Also see the full leather goods collection.
