Brown that keeps moving
Jordan Brown starts as a mid-tone with a warm base. Unlike a pigmented finish that sits on top of the hide and stays put, this is dyed through — so the colour shifts as the leather takes oil from your hands. After a season the top third, where you grip it to move the bookmark, is visibly deeper than the tail.
Thin is the hard part
Any leather bookmark thicker than about 2 mm forces the pages apart and eventually leaves a ridge in the spine. We skive the edges down — thinning the hide progressively toward the border — so the body holds its shape while the perimeter closes to almost nothing.
The tassel is knotted, not capped
It passes through a punched hole and is tied by hand. Cheaper bookmarks glue the tassel into a metal cap, and that glue joint is where they fail. There is nothing here to come unstuck.
