A leather pouch that happens to be a Faraday cage
Most signal-blocking key pouches look like they came from a hardware catalogue: nylon, silver lining, a logo. This is a hand-stitched Crazy Horse leather pouch that does the same job. The shielding sits between the leather layers, so from the outside it reads as a key case and nothing else.
Two pouches, two finishes
The set contains one in Crazy Horse hide and one in a dark grey finish. The Crazy Horse piece is the one that changes: wax-pulled full-grain that lightens on every fold and heals most scratches as the wax redistributes. The dark grey stays flat and even — a better match if you want the pouch to disappear rather than develop character.
Two is a practical count rather than a marketing one. Most households have two sets of keys, and the second pouch usually ends up wherever the spare lives.
How the shielding works
A modern car key is always transmitting a short-range signal. The pouch encloses it in a conductive layer, so the signal does not reach beyond the leather. That is the whole mechanism — no battery, no electronics, nothing to charge or replace. Take the key out and it works exactly as before.
Worth being clear about the limits: this protects the key while it is inside the pouch. It does nothing for a key left on a hall table, and it is not a replacement for parking sensibly. It removes one specific attack, and it removes it completely.
Size and closure
Each pouch is roughly 10 × 8 cm — sized to a key fob and not much more, so it sits in a coat pocket without becoming the reason the pocket bulges. The closure is a metal snap rather than a magnetic flap, for the same reason we use snaps on our AirTag holders: a magnet that has loosened gives no warning, a snap either clicks or it does not.
